What is Sonic Pay?
Sonic Pay is a new way to pay for online purchases with a line of credit that earns you valuable rewards on each transaction. We partner with our secure payments provider, Tandym, to offer this option at checkout that saves us money on processing fees. These savings are passed on to you, our loyal customers, as points to be redeemed on future purchases.
How do I sign up for Sonic Pay?
Apply for a Sonic Pay account in the cart during the payment step of checkout on our website. It takes seconds without leaving the checkout and requires your name, phone, birthdate, social security number, address, email, and annual income. Our payments partner, Tandym, securely handles the instant review process and will email you with details for managing your account once approved. During the signup process, there will be no impact to your credit score.
Will Sonic Pay signup impact my credit score?
No, the sign up process does not impact your credit score. Our payments partner, Tandym, securely manages review of your information in a way that has no impact on your credit score.
Can I sign up with a land line phone number?
A mobile phone number that can receive SMS texts is required to sign up and use Sonic Pay. At this time, you can not sign up with a land line phone.
Are there any interest charges or fees?
Sonic Pay operates similarly to traditional credit cards – you will incur no fees or interest if you pay your statement balance in full prior to your due date. Payments of less than your statement balance will accrue interest on the remaining balance, and payments paid after your due date will result in a $10 late fee.

What are my monthly payments?
Similar to a credit card, you must at least make the minimum payment by each monthly due date in
order to stay current. If your balance is less than $29, your minimum payment will be equal to your
balance. Otherwise, your minimum payment will be the greater of $29 or 3% of your balance plus new
interest and late payment fees. We will also add any past due amount to your minimum payment.
How does the first purchase discount work?
When you make your first purchase using Sonic Pay, you will receive an instant 10% discount in addition to the 5 in reward points you earn on every purchase. Your first purchase discount is immediately applied to your first purchase only at Sonic when using Sonic Pay.
How do I view and manage my Sonic Pay account?
Log in to your account at bytandym.com to manage and view your account balance and points.
Are there any restrictions on my Sonic Pay points?
Once you earn Sonic Pay points, they may be used immediately on your next online purchase. Your Sonic Pay points can only be used online at Sonic and are not transferable.
Do Sonic Pay points expire?
No, your Sonic Pay points do not expire.
Can I earn Sonic Pay rewards points along with other Sonic discounts?
Yes, you may earn Sonic Pay rewards points at the same time as earning and redeeming other Sonic discounts. Sonic Pay points will always be earned on the total amount in your cart at the payment step of checkout.
How do I redeem my Sonic Pay points?
All of your available points are automatically redeemed when you check out with Sonic Pay on your next online purchase at a rate of 1 cent per point (100 points = $1). Select Sonic Pay at the payment step and authenticate with your phone number and a secure text message to confirm your identity. Your points will be automatically applied.
Can I earn new Sonic Pay points when I’m redeeming existing ones?
Yes! You can both earn and redeem points in the same transaction - in fact this is common. Your Sonic Pay points will be deducted from your total transaction amount and any remaining amount to be paid will earn you points at a rate of 5 points per dollar.
What happens to my Sonic Pay points if I return my purchase?
If you successfully return your purchase for a refund, the points that you earned for that purchase will be deducted from your account. Your points balance will only ever be a minimum of zero and cannot be negative.
